چکیده

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential association between presence a fragmented QRS (fQRS) pattern on electrocardiogram (ECG) and prognostic outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF). Methods: In study, 238 left ventricular ejection fraction less than 35% were included. fQRS ECG analyzed all patients. Patients divided into two groups based or absence ECG. primary clinical end points all-cause mortality rehospitalization. Results: Baseline demographic characteristics comparable groups. had higher frequency coronary artery disease atrial fibrillation (72 (76%) vs 90 (62%), (p = 0.023; 27 (29%) 25 (17%), 0.038, respectively). Additionally, rate rehospitalization during 5-year follow-up period compared without fQRS. (30 (32%) / 28 (19%), 0.028; 56 (60%) 50 (35%), p < 0.001, Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that independently associated ((p 0.02 Conclusions: results suggest HF is related risk hospitalization. Therefore, may be useful indicator poor prognosis these

Predictive Value of Fragmented QRS in Response to Levosimendan Therapy in Patients with Heart Failure

INTRODUCTION Positive inotropic drugs are necessary in patients with acute decompensated heart failure and systolic dysfunction and having hypotension and/or peripheral hypoperfusion despite vasodilator and diuretic therapy (1). Levosimendan is dissimilar from other positive inotropic remedies in terms of providing increased contractility without enhancing the oxygen consumption of the heart (2...

Fragmented QRS predicts heart failure progression in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

BACKGROUND Although fragmented QRS complex (frag-QRS) reflecting intra-ventricular conduction delay has been shown to be a prognostic marker for cardiac events, few data exist regarding the impact of frag-QRS on cardiac events in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). METHODS AND RESULTS Ninety-four HCM patients (56 male; mean age, 58 ± 17 years) were retrospectively investigated. Frag-QRS was de...

Fragmented QRS and ejection fraction in heart failure patients admitted to the hospital

BACKGROUND Fragmented QRS (FQRS) in 12 lead ECG was recently correlated with various outcomes in ischemic and non-ischemic heart disease. We studied the relationship between FQRS and ejection fraction (EF) in heart failure patients with QRS < 120 ms. METHODS Medical records and echocardiograms of 339 patients admitted with CHF were reviewed. ECGs were read twice by a reader blinded to all dat...

Prognostic Implication of QRS Variability during Hospitalization in Patients with Acute Decompensated Heart Failure

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Heart failure (HF) patients display more varied QRS duration. We investigated whether QRS variability during hospitalization for acute decompensated HF is associated with poor clinical outcomes after discharge. SUBJECTS AND METHODS One hundred seventy three patients (64% males; age 60±13 years) admitted for acute decompensated HF with severe left ventricular (LV) dys...

Fragmented Qrs and other depolarization abnormalities in Nigerians with heart failure: prevalence and clinical correlates

bACKgRoUND: Fragmented QRS (fQRS), QT prolongation and wide QRS have been associated with increased risk for cardiac arrhythmias. objECTIVES: To describe the prevalence and correlates among Nigerians with heart failure. METhoDS: A total of 129 subjects were consecutively recruited for the present study. QT interval, QRS duration and fQRS were determined. SPSS version 16 was used for analysis. R...
